Adding a new page using site-builder

Tut.001» Adding a new page to your Quikpixel web site.

Step 1. Log-in to your QUIKPIXEL site-builder office.
Your log-in details will have been sent to you via email or in the post.

Step 2. Click on one of the page links on the left-hand side. Red icons represent inactive pages & Green icons represent pages currently visible to the viewing public.

Step 3. The page link that you clicked on will now be highlighted in blue. The page has five tabs on the right-hand side. The first tab is the "Page Settings" where you can:

  • Activate The Page, click on the tick box to activate page.
  • Page Type: By default, pages are set as main pages. You can choose to group one or more pages as sub-links below a main page.
  • Link Order: You can change the order of the pages in the menu. Type a number from 2 to 20 if you would like to rearrange where this page link appears on your website's menu.
  • Link Name: This is the name of the link which appears in the main menu.
  • Page Title: This is the title displayed at the top of your page.
  • Return To Top: Clicking this activates a return to top of page link.
  • Print Page: This activates a link for a printable version of the page.

Always clickthe "Save Changes To Page Settings" button to save any changes you have made.

Step 4. Each page has 4 sections or content areas. Click "Edit Page Area 1", from the tabs on the right-hand side. You will now be presented with your page content tools.

  • Picture: Click and select any of the images currently in your library.
  • Comment: The picture comment will appear below your chosen image. We recommend that you write a brief comment for all pictures that you display on your web pages.
  • Paragraph Content Area: If you have a picture displayed in this part of your page, any words that you write will appear next to your picture selection. If you have chosen not to display a picture here, your words will follow across the width of your web page. If you are displaying a wide picture, it is a good idea not to place any words in this section and use the following page area.
  • The Paragraph Content Area can be used in 2 modes:
  • Mode 1: View Wysiwyg (What You See Is What You Get) - this is the default mode. Using this mode you can type your copy into this area and use the formatting tools to control the layout of the text. You can copy and paste pre-formatted text from a programme like Microsoft Word.
  • Mode 2: View HTML, use this mode if you wish to edit the HTML code. This mode should only be used if you have an understanding of HTML. If you edit your page content using this mode always switch back to the View Wysiwyg mode before saving changes to this part of the page.
  • Pop-Up: You can activate a pop-up page which can contain up to 5 images with comments. To activate the pop-up, click the pop-up tick box. Click the edit pop-up button, select your image/images from your image library and add any image comments, the picture comment will appear below your chosen image.

Again, don't forget to click on the save changes buttons before moving onto new areas.

You can repeat the process in Step 4 for the other 3 page content areas depending on how much information you want displayed on your new web page.
